Why are vacation days important for our physical and mental health?

Going on vacation is not a luxury, but a necessity. A well-deserved break not only recharges our batteries, but can also significantly improve our quality of life.

Distancing ourselves from the work environment and everyday stress allows the body to recover, reduces cortisol (stress hormone) levels, and can improve sleep quality and cardiovascular function. In addition, it can help us reduce the risk of burnout or reevaluate our priorities.

Studies show that a vacation of at least 7-8 days is ideal for relaxing and revitalizing ourselves.

Here are a few simple tips that might not seem like a big deal at first, but they're important for having a relaxing vacation:

  • Completely disconnect from work and social media to reconnect with yourself and rediscover who you are;

  • Explore nature and let it calm your mind;

  • Avoid overloading your vacation with too many planned activities. Leave room for spontaneity and moments of quiet and rest (otherwise, you may feel like you need a vacation after your vacation);

  • Try new experiences that stimulate your senses and inspire you.

  • Get enough sleep to recharge your batteries.

  • Spend time with people who bring you joy and understand your need for relaxation.

A vacation can be a sacred time for our soul, and it is important not to underestimate the power of a good escape from the daily routine—our mind and body will thank us for it!

I wish you all the rest and relaxation you need, with many beautiful and relaxing moments!
